dA love for everyone! #108 I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!Interviewed artist: Aloony89 :iconaloony89: Tell us what defines you as a person. My name is Allen (Allen Adnan), born in Shaqlawa, Erbil in northern Iraq, moved to Ankawa to finish my education in College (Food technology in college of Agriculture) in my senior year. A friendly person; I can be a good friend, passionate about art in general in love with sunlight. How dA feels like right nowY'all know that i've been missing from dA big time this year. I came back with a positive attitude but when i saw all the changes made around here my reaction was: .Hooray for my first gif though - i decided to use gifs in my journals from now on. That, by the way, was Tyler Oakley. I might slightly abuse him today. Back on the topic though. Let's get started! While i was away changes were made to the site, which is cool i guess, it gives the feeling that we're moving forward. BUT... what the hell happened to the community?! I've been reading journals from people i admire and/or are/were so involved in the community and i thought "well, it's cool that i'm not the only one feeling it, it means i'm not crazy, but... wtf?" I have been stalking the DDs and i noticed peoples' enthusiasm is almost gone, few congratulatory comments, even fewer comments that are not plain copy-pasted (comparing to one year ago). This is just the tip

How do you cope with loss? This is a journal about loss and coping with it and it’s the hardest one I had to write so far. Please do not read if sensible/in a bad mood, I don’t want to make you sad, I just need to do this for myself. My grandmother, my father's mother, the one i grew up with, passed away this August. My mom received a call from her brother in law, he said she's not feeling well at all and that he's coming to get her admitted to the hospital. When my father came home and find out he didn't want to go to her place. "My brother's paranoid, she's just feeling a little sick, she's almost 85 after all". Mom and i insisted that we leave. We both dreamed horribly the day before.I was dressed in a long, colourful dress and my mom asked me to change into something else. "What the hell", i said, "we're not going to a funeral", then we left. 10 minutes into the road she receives another call. It was 9:10pm. She gasped and burst into tears. "No, you're not serious...", i turned from the fr
dA love for everyone! #107 I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!Interviewed artist: Kris-Kamikakushi :iconkris-kamikakushi: Tell us what defines you as a person.I’m a quiet, shy person, an introvert and a helpless romantic. If I were a color I would be dark midnight blue, quite the opposite of passionate red. I live for the people I love. I believe that a person should try as hard as he/she can not to cause needless pain to others. I dream about creating worlds that would fascinate and became a form of escapism to others, when such is sought. How did you find out about deviantART and why did you join the community?I used to roam deviantArt’s page long before I gathered the courage
dA love for everyone! #106 I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!Interviewed artist: fourthwall :iconfourthwall: Tell us what defines you as a person. That's a huge question to wrap my arms around... I'll try to answer it as succinctly as possible. At the most base level, I am defined by my faith (evangelical Christian), love for the diversity and multiplicity of our world, and a desire to engage openly and honestly with that diversity. Hence my pursuit of photojournalism, rather than a more choreographed photographic style. My best friends have radically different worldviews than I do (an atheist, an agnostic, a Jew, and a Muslim), and we respectfully challenge each other often. As iron sharpens iron, so we sharpen
Pokemon is ForeverShare|ArchiveForeword by techgnoticKay (aka damphyr) is DeviantArt’s go-to expert on everything “Pokémon.” She also occupies the adventurous position of being one of DeviantArt's main enforcers of standards and practices. We thank her for being a guardian of artistic erotica and especially, for being able to answer every question we get asked about Pokémon and just about anything else for that matter. Supreme Keeper of all pop culture knowledge, Kay must be protected in case of global disaster.by damphyrAn incongruous collection of people lined the sidewalk outside the local video game retailer just before opening on March 6th, 2011. The Hunger Games: Accidental Statement of Protest?Share|ArchiveThe Hunger Games: An Accidental Statement of Protest?By techgnoticCatching fire by Kris-KamikakushiIn Bangkok, Thailand, students are being arrested for raising their hands in the air to flash Katniss’ three–finger “freedom” salute. That’s right, the Katniss who’s the fictional heroine of the popular dystopian sci–fi “Hunger Games” movie series. The world has changed over the last few decades in a very big way, but some are apparently unaware of it or undisturbed by the stunning ramifications.Advanced sur

Collection: Snowed InShare|ArchiveSnowed InThere is no more stark dichotomy than the conflicting feelings we have about the wintertime. Many find the snow–blanketed landscape makes winter the most serenely beautiful of the seasons. But people die of exposure in the cold. The idea of being “snowed in” evokes thoughts of fireplaces and hot chocolate and snuggling under piles of blankets, of family reunions and gift–giving, and taking an annual “time–out.”But it also means lost work hours and school days and danger should someone need to go to the hospital through white–out conditions on ice–glazed roads. Winter is the most beautiful but also the
