I hope you will find this informative and entertaining!

Interviewed artist: Kris-Kamikakushi :iconkris-kamikakushi:

:bulletyellow: Tell us what defines you as a person.

I’m a quiet, shy person, an introvert and a helpless romantic. If I were a color I would be dark midnight blue, quite the opposite of passionate red. I live for the people I love. I believe that a person should try as hard as he/she can not to cause needless pain to others. I dream about creating worlds that would fascinate and became a form of escapism to others, when such is sought.

:bulletyellow: How did you find out about deviantART and why did you join the community?

I used to roam deviantArt’s page long before I gathered the courage to join as an amateur artist. Every time I found an exquisite piece of art it happened to originate from dA. DeviantArt was back then and still is my greatest source of inspiration.

:bulletyellow: When and how did you discover your passion for art?

My passion for art was always there. Passion has this quality to either fade or grow in time. Sense I kept feeding my addiction to art with more art, what my passion did was to flourish uncontrollably.

:bulletyellow: What inspires you the most and when do you think your creativity is at its maximum?

What inspires me the most is the art of other amazing artists, their magical ideas, which seem to alter my perception of beauty. I’m most creative after having experienced something extraordinary, and since this kind of events are rarity in my everyday life – after I have seen a movie, read a book, saw a painting which has shown me my dreamed world.

:bulletyellow: What do you think you'd be doing if you hadn't chosen this path?

Honestly I have no idea, if art wasn’t part of my life I would have been a totally different person. I don’t know what this person’s desires would be…

:bulletyellow: What do you think it's your most meaningful deviation and what makes it special? Does it have a story behind it?

For the first time something came solely from my own imagination: under the sea – no side influence or inspiration, other than my own feeling. And it was appreciated!

:bulletyellow: Do you have any insecurities regarding your art?

I think that every artist is insecure in certain moments. What I have to fight against every day is the urge to just give up, since there will always be someone better, more talented or skillful, more famous and acclaimed. However, “there is always a bigger fish” and even the greatest artists had to start from the beginning, didn’t they?

:bulletyellow: Did art ever helped you to deal with your life problems?

For me art is a form of escapism – the better side of life. Whenever I feel blue, I become absorbed in either somebody else’s art, or in my own. So, yes, I believe art is a placebo – whether it helps you or not depends on you.

:bulletyellow: What is the one thing you always wanted to do but never got a chance to?

I want to find a kindred spirit, with whom I’d want to do everything in the world – see all the places and meet all the people that are worth knowing!

:bulletyellow: A few words for our fellow artists?

It may sound banal but – don’t you give up! Just think about all the people who believe in you even if you don’t believe in yourself. And try to make a statement – your art should show the essence of who you are – what you find beautiful and precious.
