Tell us what defines you as a person.
This is a very difficult question I couldn't answer myself, so I asked family and friends to evaluate. My mom described me simply as rust - I eat myself stubborn through life. But they all described me as ambitious, direct, and very compassionate. I have sympathy for others and I am very humanitarian. My brother chose to define me as a lovely, spartan, chaotic person. I agree. With all.


How did you find out about deviantART and why did you join the community?
I learned of deviantART about a friend of mine, as I still lived in Berlin, Germany. We visited the same class in media design, and he shared his photography on DA. I joined in with the hope of finding more inspiration and to come in contact with other art related people. I am very glad to be here today with all this wonderful deviants, many new friends and great inspirations! Thank you for that, deviantART!


When and how did you discover your passion for art?
First of all, art can be anything in anyone's eyes I was drawing my first "da vinci's" when I was around 3 years old. I was one of the children, responsible for the rainforest to disappear. But the real artisan passion started actually many, many years later by a stroke of fate, where I was forced to put my beloved cat Lio to sleep. It hit me very hard, I feel very bond to felines since the day I first ripped out some cat whiskers with my baby-hands.

I sculpted him a unique urn, which got later pimped up to a more lifelike version. I experienced a great flame of satisfaction, creating something with my hands. This flame is flickering inside of me since that day forward and I am happy to have found my passion!



What inspires you the most and when do you think your creativity is at its maximum?
I am often inspired by just looking at shapes, a weird looking stone or daily objects. Weird enough, I see a tea light holder and suddenly pictures of something totally different like wall hangers or sculptures pop in my head. But ok. My creativity is at a maximum when I am in the middle of creating and suddenly change my mind, throw the whole plan over board to do something totally different with the almost finished object. And of course between 9pm and 4am on a sunday night. When the world sleeps, my creativity is just drinking the first coffee!


What do you think you'd be doing if you hadn't chosen this path?
Honestly, there was never an option for me doing something different. I figured this out the hard way, trying to squeeze myself into a - for me - artificial life and pretended being like everybody else. I couldn't do it. There was only this path of being my original self with my arts 'n crafts!


What do you think it's your most meaningful deviation and what makes it special? Does it have a story behind it?
My most meaningful deviation is without a doubt the life-sized urn I made for my cat Lio. I had a very special bond with my little tiger and his loss still feels like a burning hot stone in my heart. My parents divorced as I was in my teens, shortly after I got my little kitten. The ignorance of my birthfather was replaced with the love from a puffy little pooper, who taught me responsibility, bravery and friendship. (..I have a tear in the corner of my eye)



Do you have any insecurities regarding your art?
Yes, I think everybody has it a little bit. When I work in a completely new area i've never been before, and which is out of my comfy zone, I of course feel insecure and will be afraid of doing failures. But we are all learning through trial and error, and nothing can be more valuable than experience, honest feedback and constructive critique! I loose any insecurity once I figured out, how something works! I love to share my experiences and to help with my tutorials. There is nothing better, than to bring some light into the darkness for others!


Did art ever helped you to deal with your life problems?
YES! When you don't find words to tell, art does speak for you! I was a very introverted potato in the past, and expressed my feelings via drawings. The first crafts helped me to get over one stroke of fate after another. Whenever I am crafting, I am relaxing to a point where I fade out everything around me. Then there is only art and me.


What is the one thing you always wanted to do but never got a chance to?
No laughing please I aaaalways wanted to build myself a rocking horse! Well, more likely a rocking leopard. I love leopards, I love rocking things and I love wood. One day.. one day..!



A few words for our fellow artists?
There are stages in your life, where you will trip and fall, lying with the face on the ground. You can either decide to stand up and try to walk again, or to lie on the ground and not going anywhere. But when you stand up, stand up with a smile!
